Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) is one of the fastest growing segments of commercial roofing. TPO is heat reflective, long lasting, cost efficient and more.
Attractive to any future or current building owners because of it’s cost, aesthetics, environmental energy rating and heat reflective qualities specifically designed to reduce cooling costs. Various degrees of thickness allow for the right balance of cost and longevity and colors ranging from white, tan and gray are certain to match the aesthetic needs of any architectural building design.
There are many benefits to TPO Roofing, including high tensile strength and the ability to meet EPA and LEED point requirements:
TPO is manufactured in thickness ranging from 45 mils to 80 mils (a thicker layer provides more protection from UV rays and other environmental impacts).
Depending on job requirements and specifications, the TPO system can either be fully adhered using an adhesive, or mechanically attached through screws that connect to the metal deck below the roof’s insulation. The seams are heat welded which bonds the material from one roll of TPO material to the next, thus providing a strong bond making seams less visible
